A six-year-old boy has become the youngest person ever recorded to climb the three peaks in under 24 hours.

St Helens schoolboy Lucas Lawrenson was accompanied by his father, Adam, 33, as the pair scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 23 hours, 46 minutes and 24 seconds.

The feat, which was completed over Sunday May 19 and Monday May 20, included a night-time ascent of the English mountain that started at 2am.

Mr Lawrenson, a medical technician for North West Ambulance Service, said: “Emotions are all over the place, I am super proud of how a six-year-old can achieve something like this.
