She asks ‘one more, one more, higher, higher’ and the comatose royal lifts his whole hand off the bed momentarily.

The prince’s father, who is the brother of billionaire business tycoon Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, has never given up hope of his son one day making a full recovery.

Prince Khalid was among the members of the Saudi royal family detained for 11 months for criticising a crackdown on the kingdom’s elite.

Dozens of princes, officials and tycoons were imprisoned at Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton hotel in 2017.

The prince was re-arrested briefly the following year, the New Arab reported.
