OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has told £47 million signing Fred to take his chance and prove the doubters wrong.
The Brazilian midfielder has endured a miserable stay at Old Trafford since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer.
But Manchester United now have 10 players out injured – so he should get a chance at Crystal Palace tonight or against Southampton at the weekend.
Fred was overlooked in favour of youngsters Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira when Solskjaer was beset by problems against Liverpool at the weekend.
But the interim boss hinted his chance will come in the next few days – and then it will be upto him to take it.
Solskjaer said: “Play well when he gets a chance, keep training, keep working.
“We’ve had a midfield three of Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, and they’ve done really well together.
“It’s not like we’ve been really bogged down with too many games. That’s why we’ve kept them three together.

“McTominay was the obvious choice against Liverpool because he’s an academy kid.
“We had five academy kids on the pitch at one point. He knows what it means.

“Fred will get his chances – maybe on Wednesday.
“You look more at the time it needs sometimes to settle.
“You see Seba Veron, he’s one of the best I played with, it took him time to settle in England.
“I’m sure that Fred, when he gets the chance, he will grab the opportunity.”
