Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out in December, and will officially close the nine-movie Skywalker saga that began in 1977.
The first teaser trailer came out in April, but fans have been keen for more – and it’s claimed that a second trailer could arrive at Disney’s D23 later this month.
Now, YouTuber Mike Zeroh – who has over 174,000 subscribers and issued other purported leaks about Anakin over the weekend – has published the alleged content of the next teaser, and includes nods to several faces from the saga’s history.
Of course this is all completely unverified by Lucasfilm, so should be treated purely as fun speculation at this point.
But if it does come to fruition, it could make for an incredibly exciting taste of what’s to come.
After the first teaser included a previous, recycled audio clip of Palpatine’s laugh, it’s alleged that the next trailer will do similar things with other characters.
Zeroh says in a new video that there’ll be “a sequence in which Rey walks into a site full of ancient runes of the Jedi and the Sith, where – when she looks up at various statues, it’s said that the voices of Anakin [Skywalker], Obi-Wan, Darth Vader and Palpatine are heard in the background.
“It’s said that their voices are taken directly from past episodes of the prequels and originals, as Rey examines the Jedi and Sith ruins.”
Elsewhere in his video, Zeroh – citing leaked “shot descriptions” – alleges that there will be “shots of [Kylo and Rey] clashing their sabres”.
He says we’ll see “Kylo and Rey drenched in water from fighting, while a revised track by John Williams is played.
“One of the shots involves a moment in which Kylo jumps in the air and performs a front flip into the air.”
Finally, it seems we could get “a rare shot of Luke Skywalker walking into a dark cave with R2D2, showing ancient text that glows in a dark colour – likely to be a flashback.”
It is not even confirmed that we ARE getting a new trailer at D23, but Zeroh reckons the big day is August 24.
It’s worth noting that The Last Jedi’s second trailer did not land until October back in 2017, just two months before its release.
At D23, fans were instead gifted with a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel.
We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, and whether or not these claims come to fruition.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out on December 19 in the UK.
