BBC1 bosses are frantically developing a new plotline to ensure the actress can have at least eight weeks out.

Emma, whose character was previously married to Billy Mitchell, has told execs she wants to focus on training in order to have the best chance of winning the famous Glitterball trophy.
Last night a source said: “Emma was prepared to quit Albert Square in order to dedicate her time to Strictly, but scriptwriters are trying to think of ways to write her out for a few months instead.
“She is very musical, has natural rhythm, and is sure to do well. She’s also come from a bit of a dance background, so is hopeful this could open new doors.”

The 41-year-old first joined EastEnders in 2005, and ten years ago appeared in a touring stage production of Chicago, playing Roxie Hart – a role previous winner Caroline Flack has also played.
She joins BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell, ex-Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley and Anneka Rice on the smash dancing competition.
