A TEEN killer managed to walk out of prison after he switched placed with his twin brother.
Murat A, 19, reportedly switched places with his twin brother Huseyin A in Mersin, southern Turkey.
Huseyin had come to visit his brother behind bars where he was serving the first year of his sentence.
With Huseyin sitting in the cell, Mersin is said to have simply walked out of the prison and escaped.
It was reported that the prison did not have a facial recognition system to detect the subtle differences in the twins’ faces.
However, it was not long before prison staff realised that Murat had escaped and his brother had taken his place and immediately informed the local authorities.
Police teams searched all the known areas associated with the convict and reportedly found him at his home.
Murat was taken back to prison and his brother has also been detained, according to reports.
It is currently unclear why the twins decided to swap places.
The investigation is ongoing.
In August last years an American switched places with his identical twin brother on Death Row in a bid to take his place when his time came to be executed.
