Season two of the stunning Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian is just round the corner. Ahead of its Disney Plus premiere on October 30, the sci-fi adventure gave fans a taste of what’s to come in its stunning follow-up. Unfortunately, some fans were upset when a heavily rumoured character failed to make an appearance.
Following the mixed reactions to Disney’s Star Wars revival, the adventures of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and ‘Baby Yoda’ were a breath of fresh air for the popular franchise.
The first season premiered Stateside in October last year, and director Jon Favreau and the team have managed to overcome coronavirus delays and deliver a thrilling second season.
Mando will return to streaming on Friday, October 30, alongside series regulars Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano).
While all of the above featured heavily in the new trailer, some viewers were convinced a major player from the Star Wars mythos would be making an appearance.

Although Disney have yet to officially confirm the casting, it was widely reported that Rosario Dawson would be joining the cast as fan favourite Ahsoka Tano.
A formidable Jedi Padawan and member of the Togruta species, Ahsoka was first introduced in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and its subsequent Cartoon Network series.
Initially disliked by some fans, Ahsoka has grown to become a firm favourite after various appearances across Star Wars media over the years.
Disney has remained quiet about the news, but insider sources are confident that Dawson will definitely be featured as the character in some capacity.
The new footage has already been dissected frame-by-frame by Star Wars obsessives hoping for even a small glimpse of the Jedi’s signature Togruta tendrils.
However, most viewers have reasoned The Mandalorian team are likely saving her introduction for the actual series, as they did for The Child, known colloquially as Baby Yoda.
Still, this hasn’t stopped more vocal Star Wars enthusiasts from voicing their disappointment, and many took to social media to complain about the new teaser.
Over on Twitter, one fan said: “The Mandalorian didn’t really reveal too much last night….. wanted to see Ashoka. But the wait continues.”
Another viewer referred to the Black Series of Star Wars tie-in action figures and toys, which includes a new look for Ahsoka Tano ahead of her reported appearance in The Mandalorian.
They explained: “I get they wanna keep stuff. But the hype was totally uncalled for when it’s just more of what we’ve already seen.
“Ashoka’s live action look is on official merch, yet they still can’t even show a GLIMPSE in the trailer?! Come on.”
Plot details for the new instalment are being kept close to the chest, so Star Wars fans will have to wait until the end of the month to see if Ahsoka does indeed join Mando and The Child on their adventures.
The Mandalorian season 2 will premiere October 30 on Disney Plus.
