Trolls who mocked drug dealer’s “receding hairline” could face prosecution for bullying

A mugshot of Jermaine Taylor, 21, was released by Gwent Police as he is wanted on recall to prison after he was released on license.

Taylor was previously jailed for three years at Cardiff Crown Court in September 2017, for being concerned in supplying cocaine.

However, he breached the terms of his licence conditions upon release, so officers are appealing to the public for information on his whereabouts.

And social media users have taken to Facebook to mock his haircut – instead of helping the police.

“He’s vanished into thin hair… He’s neither here nor hair ”

Matt Price said: “Push his release date back further than his hairline, that should teach him.”

Nick Meek added: “Looks like his hairline is on the run too.”

And John Clement said: “What is it with prisoners released on licence, hair today gone tomorrow.”

Macca Romans said: “Barber: what you want? Taylor: you ever seen the contact brushes on the bottom of a scalextric car? Barber: I got this…”

But Gwent Police were quick to react to the “abuse”.

Officers wrote on Facebook: “Please remember that harassing, threatening and abusing people on social media can be against the law.

“Our advice is to be as careful on social media as you would in any other form of communication.

“If you say something about someone which is grossly offensive or is of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, then you could be investigated by the police.”

But users continued to “poke fun” at Taylor, as they joked at the police force’s response.

John Redpath said: “So are the police going to investigate all comidiens (sic) then?”

And Daniel Knox-Hewson posted: “Can’t work out what’s thinner. This guy’s hair or Gwent police’s skin?”
