A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has been slammed after rushing to the A&E with a broken fingernail – before moaning about the wait to see a doctor.

Aaliyah, 16, had part of her nail ripped off when her false nail was caught during a fight with a fellow pupil.

The schoolgirl, who can be seen with scratches on her face, was immediately taken to St George’s Hospital, appearing on Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E.

She could be heard complaining: “Can someone please come deal with my finger.

“I’m going to pass out.”

She’s told by her mum Maria: “Your finger looks a bit swollen actually”, with the teen replying: “I think it is swollen.”

The teen had got her nails the day before the fight.

After being taken into a room, she was told by a doctor they would have to take the nail off.

But viewers were less than impressed with the injury being treated at the A&E.

One viewer wrote: “Watching 24 Hours in A&E and the man with the stomach pains and the girl with the nail problem should have been chased out of there. It isn’t a drop in for lazy idiots who can’t be bothered either consulting a pharmacist or a GP.

“No need to wonder why waiting times are long!”

Another added: “Watchin 24 Hours in A&E whilst waiting for Drag SOS with Gemma and theres a woman in the hopsital bc she broke her acrylic nail and its taken a bit of her normal nail off. Are you kidding me?”

A third said: “#24HrsAE a broken nail, in A & E”

And another blasted: “Oh for gods sake! It’s a fingernail and you’re wasting everybody’s time by going to A&E. People need to re-evaluate what classes as a bloody emergency.”

It comes after a health chief said no patient should be made to wait more than six hours in A&E.

Just 85 per cent of patients were dealt with within four hours in April, against a target of 95 per cent.

Many would have spent hours on trolleys waiting for a bed.
