A Virginia mother has been found dead after disappearing from a bar during a night out with friends, leaving her phone and purse behind.
Sheena West, 36, was found dead on Sunday morning at a private residence in Norfolk, Virgina, after police responded to a report of an unresponsive woman, WAVY-TY reported on Wednesday.
For days, however, West’s frantic friends had no idea of her fate, and circulated pleas on social media asking for assistance in locating her.
Co-workers at the Center For Animal Healing in Virginia Beach say they were out with West at the Central Shore tapas bar when she strayed from the group and disappeared.

Friend Leigh Ann Dowdy Conner wrote on Facebook that West had left her phone and purse behind at the tapas bar — something completely out of character for the young mother.
Surveillance images from the bar appear to show West leaving with an unknown man.
‘Sheena would never leave with a stranger. She loves her people and she loves her job. She would never willingly disappear,’ Conner wrote in the emotional post.

Police later revealed that only a few hours after West disappeared, they were called to a residence on the 1200 block of Hillside Avenue in Norfolk, about 10 miles away from the tapas bar.
Cops and paramedics located a woman, later identified as West, who was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
West’s lack of ID or phone may have delayed authorities in identifying her and notifying her family.
Police said there doesn’t appear to be any sign of foul play at this time, but the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine her official cause and manner of death.
West’s colleagues at the Center for Animal Healing expressed heartbreak over her death
The case is being classified as an ‘undetermined death,’ police said.
West was a native of Plainwell, Michigan and had worked at the Center for Animal Healing in Virginia Beach since August 2019, according to her social media profiles.
Her colleagues at the Center for Animal Healing expressed heartbreak over her death.
‘Our world has lost a beautiful light,’ the center said in a statement.
‘We are closed today to try to catch our breath and mourn our friend Sheena West. We are utterly heartbroken. And completely devastated for her family.’
