Waitrose URGENT food recall: Supermarket recalls sausages – full product details

The supermarket are recalling Waitrose 6 Sweet and Succulent Port Sausages with Caramelised Red Onion Confit. The meaty treat has been incorrectly labelled, and given the wrong ‘use by’ date. Packets that currently have a ‘use by’ of 04/07/19 should have been given a ‘use by’ of 04/06/19. This means the product could be unsafe to eat after the intended ‘use by’ of 04/06/19 – but consumers may mistakenly think they can eat the sausages for a whole month after.

The sausages come in a pack size of 400g.

Issuing advice on the Food.gov website, the FSA said: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

Anyone wanting to speak to someone for further advice should call 0800 188 881.
