Channel 4’s Naked Beach star Elysia Downings has earned thousands performing for viewers online – but revealed she has found herself in trouble.

The 28-year-old revealed it is “very easy” to find yourself in situations where the client “takes control”.

She was speaking out after the inquest into the death of Hope Barden.

Hope died of asphyxiation after being coaxed to perform a dangerous sex act by perv Jerome Dangar, 45.

He didn’t raise the alarm and left her to die live on webcam.

“ have had men ask me to asphyxiate myself, hit myself and do other degrading things”

“When I first began working on cam I was much more naive and found it difficult to say no,” Elysia told Mirror Online.

“Despite being behind a screen it is very easy to find yourself in these kind of situations where the client takes control and you do what they want.”

She said hearing about the tragic death of Hope made her feel sick.

Elysia described how just weeks into the job, men were urging her to choke herself on camera.

She said: “I have had men ask me to asphyxiate myself, hit myself and do other degrading things.”

“Fortunately, I now stand my ground and I refuse to do anything I’m not comfortable with.

“For my own sanity more than anything, if men are rude to me, or if they don’t use their manners we talk to me in a respectful way, I don’t do what they want.”

Elysia has said her career has improved and got safer, since she signed up for an agency, Off The Record Models.

“The job really can be empowering for some but there is most definitely a dark side to it and I worry that there are lots more young, vulnerable individuals who are potentially putting their lives and safety at risk,” she said.

Elysia charges clients £3.99 to watch her online broadcasts – and says it is “free and liberating”.

“It’s been so good for my confidence, especially after having a baby and stretchmarks – I’ve learnt to accept my body.

“I know people will judge me regardless, but I am the happiest I’ve ever been.”

Despite the positives however, a cloud hangs over the industry after the death of Hope.

Her family have called for regulation in the industry after she was discovered by her flatmate at her home in Burton, on March 15, 2018.

Hope’s mum Kate said: “Unregulated, this industry serves no-one except those who wish to perpetrate violence against women.”

She added: “If someone is obviously in danger, one has a legal obligation to take steps to help. In this tragic case, Hope was left to die.”

Dangar killed himself in prison after being arrested in connection with her death and being convicted on separate counts of possessing extreme porn.
