WH: Kushner Had Meeting With MBS, Saudi King on Peace Plan

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner met with the Saudi king and crown prince to try to build momentum for Kushner’s plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

Citing a White House statement, The New York Times reported the meeting was held Tuesday — and was Kushner’s first face-to-face encounter with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman since Saudi agents killed the dissident Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul in October.

The Trump administration has stood by the crown prince, known as MBS, and Kushner has a “strong relationship” with him, according to the Times.

Kushner, King Salman, and the crown prince discussed the peace efforts, as well as American-Saudi cooperation and plans to improve conditions in the region through investment, the Times reported.

Details of Kushner’s peace plan were not disclosed, but in an interview with Sky News Arabia this week, Kushner described the plan as “very detailed, very in-depth,” saying it would “allow people to put the conflicts of the past behind them and to move forward and look forward to a really prosperous and exciting future.”
