CORRIE fans were heartbroken when Rana Habeeb died in the factory collapse on her wedding day to Kate Connor.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the residents will want answers about what happened. So who is responsible for the accident, will anyone go to prison for it and was Rana’s death manslaughter? Let’s find out…
Who was responsible for the factory roof collapse in Coronation Street?
Lots of people have a part to play in the tragic Underworld roof collapse. Carla Connor knew it was dodgy but didn’t get it fixed when Gary Windass told her it needed doing.
The dodgy roof could even be traced back to dead serial killer Pat Phelan who did the original patch-up job.
But the real culprit is the unknown shadowy figure who was seen attacking the roof with a crow bar shortly before the crash.
Judging by how they went about sabotaging the roof, it was someone who knew what they were doing.
Will anyone go to prison for the roof collapse in Coronation Street?
We don’t know at the moment, but spoilers have revealed that Carla Connor, Nick Tilsley and Gary Windass will all have to give statements to the police.
And when the news gets out that the roof was unsafe and Carla knew about it, the Weatherfield locals are quick to blame her. But not as much as Carla blames herself.

Is Rana Habeeb’s death manslaughter?
The police tell Nick, Carla and Gary that they could be facing charges of manslaughter if it’s discovered that they knew about the roof being unsafe.
Manslaughter is defined as ‘the crime of killing a human being without malice aforethought, or in circumstances not amounting to murder’ so it’s possible that Rana’s death could fall in this category.
