THE Gareth Bale saga continues to rumble on.
After a summer of speculation, the Welsh superstar remains a Real Madrid player after his proposed move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning was vetoed by club president Florentino Perez.
Why isn’t Gareth Bale playing against Tottenham?
REAL MADRID come up against Bale’s former team Spurs in the Audi Cup on July 30.
Zinedine Zidane‘s side have endured a poor pre-season campaign, with a humiliating 7-3 derby defeat to cross-town rivals Atletico last time out.
With his future at the club up in the air, Bale wasn’t expected to feature in any of Madrid’s friendlies but came off the bench against Arsenal to inspire a second half fightback.
The Welshman proved his fitness in an inspired 45-minute cameo, but his relationship with boss Zidane appears at an all-time low.
Bale isn’t nursing an injury and looked set for a switch to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning earlier this week, which would have made him the world’s highest-paid footballer.
