Wisconsin GOP Rep. Bryan Steil announced Sunday night that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
“After working in Washington, D.C. all of last week, I began experiencing mild symptoms this weekend and contacted my health care provider while at home in Janesville,” the congressman wrote in a statement posted to Twitter.
“I took a COVID-19 test today and the test results came back positive,” he added.
Steil said upon receiving the results, he immediately began quarantining and plans to work from home.
The lawmaker’s coronavirus diagnosis comes as cases in the US have been steadily rising.
