A WOMAN has revealed her stunning garden makeover – including her very own tropical bar – that she achieved by upcycling old wooden pallets and reclaimed tyres.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, run by money saving mum Holly Smith, DIY diva Nikki Smith shared snaps of her handiwork.

Using old packing crates she had crafted an outdoor bar for her garden as well as two corner seats, using kitsch cushions to brighten them up.

Nikki then painted old tyres with fence paint and used them for everything from planters to outdoor stools, all following her blue, pink and white colour scheme.

Captioning her snaps she wrote:  “Love using free old pallets and old tyres to make things.

Have used them as a decking base, to make a bar for my garden and for a pallet garden sofa and old tyres for seats and planters.

She also used the wooden pallets to make corner seating

“I’m not a business and don’t sell anything I make, it’s just a hobby as I love upcycling.

“If it gives anyone any ideas that makes me happy- you don’t need a lot of money and if you can upcycle it’s even more of a bargain.”

Her post has since amassed almost 8,000 likes and thousands of comments from fellow group members who were seriously impressed by her DIY skills.

One particularly impressed user wrote: “YOU Lady are AMAZING! Your garden is fantastic, absolutely stunning! And to think you up cycled everything, I’m gobsmacked.

“It just goes to show that the things we throw away are not rubbish and with a bit of imagination, time and the right attitude we can achieve anything we set our mind too.

“So come on Ladies, find some courage and let’s all have a go at making something out of, well nothing, and share what we make.”

Clearly touched by the comments Nikki later responded: “Thank you so so much for all the likes and comments- I’m gobsmacked.”

Last week we told you about a dad who created a stylish outdoor bar for just £30 using B&Q paint and an old packing crate.
